For plugin authors who already know Bukkit or Paper: almost nothing changes, and the parts that change change in your favor.
MeowMC is a Paper 26.3 fork whose API is a strict superset of Paper's. The
compatible surface — every org.bukkit, org.spigotmc, io.papermc.paper and
com.destroystokyo.paper namespace — is byte-identical to Paper 26.3. What the
fork adds is one interface
(ClientVersion) and one method on
Player. That is the entire additive linkable surface.
- Project setup — JDK 25, and which artifact to compile against.
- Compatibility — will my plugin run? Four tiered answers.
- The MeowMC API — what you get that Paper does not give you, and an explicit list of what does not exist.
- Plugin descriptors —
api-versionand the one rewriting difference. - Scheduling — the serial truth of this build, in code samples that compile against the API.
The reference docs for every symbol are the javadoc pages at /api/, which
ship with the build.
