Installation

Get the jar

The current release is MeowMC 1.0.0 for Minecraft 26.3:

Download meowmc-1.0.0.jar

Every release is published with its SHA-256 checksum on the downloads page — verify the artifact before you run it.

Run it

Requires JDK 25:

java -jar meowmc-1.0.0.jar

A fresh server boots into setup mode, which gates joins until an operator finishes the first-run wizard — see First run.

Version numbers, kept apart

  • 1.0.0 is a release-slot label — the name of the current release. It is not the Minecraft version and not a runtime version.
  • 26.3 is the Minecraft and API version.
  • Each release replaces the previous one — there is one jar, not a history of jars.

/meow health and /meow report answer the version from the running server itself: the server's own version string and the configuration schema's _version counter. What the server tells you and what the release is called cannot diverge. See Report artifacts.

No benchmark headlines

You will not find performance claims on this site. Any number published with a version carries its method — the hardware, the load and the setup that produced it.
